Wild Futures’ Christmas Raffle

Wild Futures, the charity that runs The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall, has launched its annual Christmas raffle with some spectacular prizes this year!  The Christmas raffle is essential in order to raise vital funds to help the charity continue in its care and protection for primates.

Top prizes are a cash prize of £500 and a family Treehouse Experience in partnership with Living Room Treehouse Experiences.  The uber chic treehouses are hidden in Snowdonia National Park, close to the sea, high up in the tree canopy where families can holiday like monkeys!  Each treehouse has the most amazing views and a wood-fired hot tub.  There are lots of other exciting prizes too, including a framed picture of Billy the capuchin by Drawn to the Valley artist, Lin Deacon, and a Keeper for a Day Experience for two worth £250!

The Christmas raffle is essential in order to raise funds to enable Wild Futures to expand its work and rescue more monkeys.  Evidence indicates that the primate pet trade is escalating and The Monkey Sanctuary is being asked on a regular basis to rescue more monkeys and support overseas projects.  The charity desperately needs to raise funds to meet the need and so is extremely grateful to the Living Room and Lin Deacon for their support.

Hayley Dann, Head of Income Generation and PR at Wild Futures states: “We are very proud to be working with such a great, like-minded company for our Christmas raffle.  We hope to sell lots of tickets between now and December 24th – we have a lot of lovely supporters who are behind our work so I am sure they will be busy selling tickets on our behalf over the coming weeks.  It costs £6,000 to cover all the veterinary bills for one year at our Sanctuary as many of our monkeys suffer with health issues such as Type 2 diabetes and so the fundraising must never stop.”

Mark Bond, of Living Rooms, states: “We are very happy to support Wild Futures in raising funds by offering a family treehouse package.  The treehouse experience offers any family the perfect chance to unwind and switch off in style.  Living Room treehouses are uber-chic, and lovely to live in all year.  The shower is heated by the wood burning stove; the beds are cosy and the views amazing!  Lanterns and candles create a wonderfully romantic atmosphere … and the wood-fired Hot Tub is gorgeous!  We hope that lots of people buy tickets to support Wild Futures this winter.”

Lin Deacon, Drawn to the Valley artist who has donated a painting of Billy the capuchin states: “From the moment I visited Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary and met Billy, I knew that he was special and I had to adopt him.  From then on I had the urge to paint the cheeky character!  This particular painting took a lot of time to get right, in particular the eyes, but I am happy with the final result.  The work that Wild Futures does to protect primates is admirable and I am proud to be an Ambassador and support them in this way.”

Anyone wishing to obtain raffle tickets, is urged to contact the fundraising office on 0844 2721271 or [email protected] as soon as possible as tickets are selling fast.
