Austell’s Art Dinner a Success
Austell’s restaurant in Carlyon Bay and Cornish based wildlife photographer Sue Earnshaw combined forces and hosted an amazing dinner to raise funds for Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary in Looe.
The dinner was held in September and was a huge success, raising a total of £1070. The vegetarian dishes created especially by award winning chef, Brett Camborne-Paynter, went down a storm.
The night included a presentation by Paul Reynolds, Education Officer from Wild Futures, and Sue Earnshaw and an auction of fantastic items, including Keeper for a Day at the Sanctuary and a dinner for two at Austell’s.
Wild Futures’ biggest project in the UK is The Monkey Sanctuary. With almost 50 years of experience, Wild Futures operates the centre for ex-pet and unwanted monkeys in need of rehabilitation, providing an exceptional level of care to ensure the monkeys are provided with as wild a life as possible. With thousands of monkeys being taken from the wild every year and an estimated 5,000 privately owned primates within the UK alone, Wild Futures’ work is extremely important.
The Art Dinner event was such a success that there is already talk of another one to celebrate The Monkey Sanctuary’s 50th anniversary next year. So watch this space to book your place early!
