Wild Futures Teams up with Local Businesses to Raffle a Luxury Cornish Package

Wild Futures, the charity that runs The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall, has teamed up with local businesses including the Carbis Bay Hotel and Eco-Drive to launch a Christmas raffle, with the aim of raising vital funds to rescue more monkeys.

The top prize is a luxury Cornish break package for up to four people – including three nights accommodation in one of the Carbis Bay Hotel’s luxury apartments, an eco-car donated by Eco-Drive, Cornish food box from the Cornish Food Box Company, organic wine, chocolates, plus vouchers for entry to various Cornish attractions.

The raffle is essential in order to raise funds to enable Wild Futures to further its work and rescue more monkeys.  Evidence indicates that the primate pet trade is escalating and The Monkey Sanctuary is being asked almost weekly to rescue more primates.  The charity desperately needs to raise funds to meet the need and so is extremely grateful for the donations by local businesses to the raffle prize list.

Hayley Dann, Head of Income Generation and PR at Wild Futures states: “We are very proud to be working with such prestigious companies for our Christmas raffle.  The support and generosity of the local businesses in this fundraiser is fantastic.  We hope to sell lots of tickets between now and December 24th – we have a lot of lovely supporters who are behind our work so I am sure they will be busy selling tickets on our behalf over the coming weeks.  It costs £6,000 to care for one rescued monkey for a year and so the fundraising never stops for us at Wild Futures!”

Stephen Baker, owner of the Carbis Bay Hotel added: “It’s great to see a Cornwall-based charity carrying out such important wildlife protection work, and the Carbis Bay Hotel is delighted to be able to support this by contributing to the Christmas raffle. Wild Futures has put together a fantastic prize package, so I hope everyone will dig deep and buy lots of raffle tickets to support a very worthwhile cause.”
