Olly was born into the primate pet trade in 2014 and came to live at The Monkey Sanctuary in March 2019. Sadly, not a lot of his past is known – like so many of the monkeys we rescue from the pet

What we do know is that he was seen by a concerned member of the public being taken on the London Underground on a dog lead, which is an incredibly stressful, scary and unnatural environment for a monkey. Thankfully, they reported what they saw, which lead to Olly being confiscated.

He began his new life at The Monkey Sanctuary as a low-ranking individual, but he has already begun showing huge potential to mature into a strong adult male who could rise up the ranks in time – if he learns the important social lessons first that is!

Olly is still young, so he really enjoys spending his days playing with his friends and climbing really high up! He is always on the move and loves to forage for snacks – a very natural behaviour but one he has only learnt since being rescued.
