Wild Futures Goes Wild About Food

Wild Futures Goes Wild About Food with New Venture, ‘Wild Catering’

Wild Futures, the charity which runs The Monkey Sanctuary near Looe, Cornwall has recently launched a new catering arm, Wild Catering.

The charity decided to launch Wild Catering following the success of its vegan and vegetarian, eco-friendly establishment, the Treetop Café at The Monkey Sanctuary site.

Wild Catering will incorporate the same sustainable and eco-friendly practises as the Treetop Café.  Wild Catering will be serving up delicious vegan and vegetarian food at a number of festivals across the country including the Bristol Veg Fest from 25th – 27th May.  Wild Catering has already been booked for a wedding this year and has received a lot of enquiries about catering for other outside events.

Matt Nott, Catering Manager of Wild Catering said: “We are confident that Wild Catering is going to be a success.  We are attending numerous events across the country this year, catering for thousands of people.  At the same time, we will be promoting the healthy and sustainable choice of vegan and vegetarian food and raising awareness of the good work of Wild Futures.”

The existing Treetop Café will continue to serve the 30,000 visitors to The Monkey Sanctuary throughout the year.  Locals are also encouraged to visit the Treetop Café for lunch or daytime snacks as it is possible to visit the café without paying for entry to the Monkey Sanctuary.  Look out for locally advertised evening events too, such as theatre and dinner nights.

Gemma Lawrence, Director of Wild Trading stated:  “We recently held a chilli and cider evening at the Treetop Café, which was also a fundraising event to raise funds for a new Barbary macaque enclosure.  The evening was a great success, catering for more than 50 people and everyone had a memorable evening.”

This year The Monkey Sanctuary is promoting a ‘dads go free day’ for Father’s day on Sunday 17th June.  Not only will dads be given free entry to The Monkey Sanctuary, there will be DIY workshops demonstrating how to build your own bug box, plus special menu at The Treetop Café and discounts on a selection of local beers and ciders.

Visitors are asked to go to the website for more details www.monkeysanctuary.org or to book an event either at The Treetop Café or Wild Catering, please contact Matt Nott on 0844 272 1271 or [email protected]
