The monkeys featured in the symbolic adoption scheme reside at Wild Futures’ The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall, UK, where they all have a home for life.
Adopters become part of a proud, extended family of supporters who are a part of each individual’s lives through visits, updates and photos.
We are committed to giving the monkeys we have rescued the most natural life possible, amongst company of their own kind in species specific territories.
The generous contributions from adopters help us to help them recover from the mental and physical trauma they have suffered in their former lives as someone’s pet, and simply learn how to just be a monkey.

No, our adoption scheme is purely symbolic in nature.
Primates are wild animals, who are inherently unsuitable to live as pets.
Wild Futures has spent over a decade campaigning for a total end to the keeping of primates as pets within the UK.
Each handmade adoption pack includes:
- A personalised certificate of your adoption
- A photo of your adopted monkey
- Your adopted monkey’s story
- Species factsheet
- Wild Futures newsletters twice a year (sent digitally or physically)
- A cuddly monkey toy (optional and for physical packs only)
Members of Wild Futures’ adoption scheme are part of a proud extended family of supporters who play an integral role in the lives of the primates here at The Monkey Sanctuary.
As such, we try, whenever possible, to accommodate requests by adopters to visit their adopted monkey.

Wild Futures offers several different options within our adoption scheme, in order to best fit your need.
Amount of Adopters
Single – this adoption is valid for one person.
Couple – this adoption is valid for two people.
Family – this adoption valid for two adults and two children.
Adoption Material Delivery Method
Digital – adopters who take out a digital adoption receive all correspondence and adoption materials via email. This includes your initial adoption welcome pack, newsletters and annual renewal updates. Please note, as this delivery method is entirely virtual, we are unable to supply any of the physical gifts typically included within our welcome and renewal packs (such as the ‘Cuddly Monkey Toy)’.
Physical – adopters who take out a physical adoption pack receive some correspondence and all adoption materials via the post. This includes your initial adoption welcome pack (including ‘Cuddly Monkey Toy’), newsletters and annual renewal updates. Please note: this method is only available for adopters with a delivery address within the United Kingdom.
Much like our physical adoption packs, our digital adoption packs are handcompiled by our small team.
As a result, we are unable to offer instant downloads or immediate email delivery for digital adoptions.
Adoptions run for one calendar year from the date of purchase.

For adopters paying via Direct Debit or Standing Order, your adoption will automatically renew at the end of your current adoption episode, so there is no need to take any action. Your renewal pack will be posted to you at the beginning of the following month.
