The awards are seen as a way to recognise the ongoing quality development of tourism businesses in the region.
The Sustainable Tourism Award recognises the work of tourism businesses in the whole of the South west region that are actively trying to improve their own sustainability and that of their area’s economy as a whole.
Wild Futures is a UK registered charity founded upon over five decades of experience as a leader in the field of primate welfare and conservation, environmental education, and sustainable practice.
Sarah Hanson, from Wild Futures stated: “We are extremely proud to be a finalist for this for the Sustainable Tourism award at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards. All our staff and volunteers are passionate about living a sustainable life and work hard to ensure that our organisational operations have as little effect on the environment as possible. It is great to be recognised for our hard work through these awards, as it gives us an even greater platform to educate others in how to live and work more sustainably.”
The awards will be presented at a black tie dinner in Bristol on the 2nd of February 2017.
