Manning and Company Adopt a Monkey
Independent Financial Advisers, Manning and Company, has joined Wild Futures’ team of corporate supporters and adopted Gizzie the capuchin monkey at Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary is the flagship project of leading primate welfare charity, Wild Futures. It rescues monkeys from the primate pet trade – a trade that has escalated over recent years. It carries out much needed rescue and rehabilitation work with monkeys, many who are damaged either physically or psychologically due to their time kept as pets. It offers a home for life to all the monkeys that reside there.
Gizzie is a 25 year old black-capped capuchin who was rescued by Wild Futures in 2010. When she arrived at Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary she was crippled with arthritis; however over the years this has vastly improved and many wouldn’t believe she is the same monkey today.
All the monkeys at Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary are given as wild a life as possible with large, spacious, enriched enclosures surrounded by lush woodland. They are fed a strictly controlled diet due to a third of the monkeys – including Gizzie – suffering from diabetic issues following their time kept as pets.
In addition to adopting a monkey, Manning and Company has announced that it will donate 20% of its fee from any financial advice given if Wild Futures is mentioned at the consultation stage.
Hayley Dann, Wild Futures states: “We are extremely happy to be partnering with Manning and Company in this way. It is clear that they are passionate about giving back to animals and the environment, which is important in today’s competitive climate, helping to give them a unique selling point. We are very grateful for their support and look forward to working with them over the coming months.”
Mike LeGassick, Independent Financial Adviser and Financial Life Planner at Manning and Company stated: “We are pleased to be supporting Wild Futures as the work they do is vital in order to protect primates and habitats. We are very proud to have adopted Gizzie; my wife Mary and I love wildlife and can’t bear any cruelty to innocent animals. At Manning and Company we pride ourselves on offering a personal approach, and we will visit clients wherever they are in the UK; therefore we are positive we can provide Wild Futures’ supporters with a good service, and in turn send the charity lots of donations.”
