Coco and Kiki were rescued together having been kept as pets for a number of years. They arrived at The Monkey Sanctuary in March 2017; making them the first marmosets to ever be given a forever home by Wild Futures! Coco was born in 2015, specifically to be sold into the primate pet trade. He was kept alone for the first year of his life before his owners bought Kiki to keep him company. Because of this time spent alone, Coco is not as confident as Kiki is and doesn’t always handle social situations correctly, but Kiki is always there to give him some gentle, but firm, reassurance whenever necessary! 

Coco is the quieter one of the pair, often watching Kiki take the first steps in trying something new. He has a very sweet nature, but will protect his friend whenever he feels threatened. Kiki is very much the leader of the pair, and in her opinion, the leader of all the monkeys at the sanctuary – despite weighing only 400g! Her confidence continues to grow by the day and she is always eager to explore new things. Coco and Kiki love spending time together playing and wrestling, as well as sleeping curled up together in the sunshine!
