New Nocturnal Running Event in Truro
New Nocturnal Running Event in Truro
Leading primate charity, Wild Futures is calling for runners to join them on Saturday 23rd February 2013 at 10.00pm for Night Runner, a thrilling 10km run around Truro city centre. This new and exciting event promises to be a real challenge and a great chance for anyone looking to shake off a few post Christmas pounds. It is also important in order to raise vital funds to enable Wild Futures to rescue more monkeys.
Wild Futures’ main UK project is The Monkey Sanctuary in Looe, Cornwall – a primate rescue and rehabilitation centre. Currently, The Monkey Sanctuary is recovering from flooding as well as the tragic loss of Pepper, a baby capuchin who arrived at the Sanctuary in March 2012.
Katie Brydges, Events and Community Fundraiser at Wild Futures states: “We have had a difficult couple of months at The Monkey Sanctuary and are now trying to pick ourselves back up after the damaging effects of November’s storm. The money raised from Night Runner will help us to fill the resultant financial gap and enable us to continue with the vital work of rescuing and re-homing more monkeys. Night Runner is a very important fundraiser for us.”
Registration for this unique, challenging event is just £12 and all participants will receive a limited edition t-shirt, medal and a delicious hot drink and snack on the night! Night Runner welcomes runners of all levels, whether novice or veteran. Please visit www.wildfutures.org/events to download a registration form or call the fundraising office on 0844 272 1271.
